11/12/2023 0 Comments Pcsx2 memory card not inserted![]() I thought PCSX2 would have the per-game functionality, but it seems not. After booting up just the BIOS I saw all my saves are on the same memory card. Meaning, after saving so many games, we need to create new ones? It's just that option in PCSX2 has me confused.Įdit: Ok I just answered my own question. I have a feeling they're shared 8MB cards like with the physical console. ![]() Perhaps the best thing to do is to load up the PS2 bios and explore the memory cards to see what's on them. I will check on this and report back later, but I believe I have some state files identified by the serial code, and I thought perhaps the memory card was somehow bundled with it. But seeing as how there are only the two memory cards, perhaps they're actually shared? "Automatically manage saves based on running game" <- I ASSUMED this meant there was a memory card file for each game. I also have the same two boxes checked that you have. When i boot BIOS i can see the save data on the memory card in the browser, but in-game the memory card is being detected but not the save. Not sure where you saw I'm using the libretro core, because I'm using the standalone client too.īUT, all I see is Mcd001 and Mcd002 like you have - nothing else. Saves on memory card but not being detected by the game playing. To find these codes you have to either have the physical disc/package of the game on hand or rightclick on the games icon in the list where you start games, then go to properties or just look at the left side of the list if youre in detailed list instead of cover art mode. If you cant identify the saves you need you know the games serial code, SLUS-20873 for example is the american Silent Hill 4 and its folder is called BASLUS-20873SH4. That means there should be a PS2 saves folder and the loose Mcd001 and Mcd002 memory cards floating around in there. I think all cores have their saves clumped up in there. In RetroArch theyre probably somewhere in the saves folder inside of the of the RetroArch folder. If for some reason the Open button doesnt work the path of the folder is in the textbox on the left that says button, that should open the folder where theyre at on your pc, presuming the folder is automatically filled in but that should be the case if your memory cards work. Open settings, go to memory cards and then press on the Open. My PC is old trash tier but the game runs otherwise just fineĪMD Phenom II X4 B55 3.6ghz, 4gb RAM, GTX 650 and 256gb SSD.Hmm in my opinion you should stop using the Retroarch core, its very outdated and also doesnt do achievements.īut since youre not here to ask for my opinion heres how to do it on standalone, i dont know if that really helps though. Here's what i have changed on Emulation Settings I can create a new save file via the game but that way i'll lose all my cars excluding the one i'm driving. If i restart the game and let it load from the card (not loading a save state) it just says "Load failed". I've been trying to dick around with mymc by creating a new memory card and transferring my GT4 save to it but that doesn't work. Insert a memory card (PS2) containing the correct game data into MEMORY CARD slot 1. The problem that i now have is that the game doesn't recognize my memory card and just says "A different memory card (PS2) has been inserted. I downloaded a save game with all the license tests done and i've been playing it for weeks now without any problems (41.4% completed) Recently i have been playing a lot of Gran Turismo 4 (NTSC) on my PC and it has been working near perfectly with only minor slowdowns on tracks were car lights are on.
